California Proposition 65 Statement
December 9, 2017
Proposition 65, also known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, was enacted as a California ballot initiative in November 1986. The Proposition was intended by its authors to protect California citizens and the State’s drinking water sources from chemicals determined by a state agency to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. As of this writing, nearly 1000 chemicals are now on California’s Proposition 65 list.
Prop 65 requires that a “clear and reasonable warning” be provided by a company in the course of doing business, who manufactures, assembles, handles, distributes, stores, sells, or transfers a consumer product which he or she knows to contain unacceptable levels of any chemical known to the State to cause cancer or reproductive toxicity to any person to whom the product is sold or transferred.
Monster Magnetics is committed to providing compliant, safe products for our customers. To that end, we continually work with our vendors and supply chain partners to implement a process that ensures our products are Proposition 65 compliant.
By review of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) obtained from our suppliers, products provided by Monster Magnetics do not contain unacceptable levels of any chemicals on the current Proposition 65 chemical list.
Since the Proposition 65 chemical list is dynamic and changes frequently, we monitor it closely to ensure compliance. This statement will be updated and Prop 65 warning labels will be affixed to our products if/when any of our product contents or production practices deem it necessary.
